Ball catchA spring loaded ball is held within a cylinder, when the door closes the ball locates in a striker plate. |

Roller catchA sprung roller is held within an assembly, when the door closes the roller locates over a raised lip on the striker plate. |

Sliding stayUsed to support a drop down leaf, there is a track that is fastened to the cupboard and a supporting arm that fastens to the leaf. Used on display cabinets. |

Lift up stayUsed to support a lift up cupboard in the open position, this allows two hands to be used to remove or replace items within the cupboard. Mainly found on wardrobe top boxes and kitchen top cupboards. |

Butt hingeButt hinges are probably the most common hinge, they are mainly used for household doors. |

Piano hingeAcquired the name due to the extensive use for securing the lid of a piano. Used where any cupboard door or lid requires support along its entire length. The hinge can be cut to any length. |

Flush hingeA lightweight hinge similar to the butt hinge. Its advantage is that it fastens directly on to the surface, thus avoiding the need to cut a recess. |
