Catches

There are catches on most of the things that we have to keep shut, cupboards, doors and windows.

Catches and Descriptions

Catches come in all shapes and sizes to suit a variety of different applications.

	Ball catch A spring loaded ball is held within a cylinder, when the door closes the ball locates in a striker plate.
	Magnetic catch A magnet in a housing is fastened to the cupboard and a metal striker plate is fastened to the door in line with the magnet.
	Roller catch A sprung roller is held within an assembly, when the door closes the roller locates over a raised lip on the striker plate.
	Sliding stay Used to support a drop down leaf, there is a track that is fastened to the cupboard and a supporting arm that fastens to the leaf. Used on display cabinets.
	Lift up stay Used to support a lift up cupboard in the open position, this allows two hands to be used to remove or replace items within the cupboard. Mainly found on wardrobe top boxes and kitchen top cupboards.
