Description: WARNING! FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! Bird shot to 1 ounce Slug Modification = DIY Home Made Slugs ============================== Here is a vid series, part 2, that shows how to modify a multi-purpose shotgun shell to a 1 oz slug. Why do this? 1. In case you can't purchase manufactured slug shells (emergency) and... 2. To save money - a box of 5 each 1 oz manufactured slugs cost about $5.00, so thats $1.00 per shell. Now by modding a box of multi-purpose shells you save some money. A box of 25 each MP shells cost about $10, so that about .40 cents per shell. If your gonna practice wouldnt it make sense to save some money in the process? Yes it does. Anyway check the vid and remember its for informational purposes only and I am not liable for anything you do. ;) Steve safearmsreview SAR shotgun remington 870 mossberg 12 20 gauge self defense tactical under over pump semi auto saiga boom stick shot shell slug modification

... You have talent for demonstration and you make good videos. Thanks.

@SafeArmsReview highest caliber lol pun intended

@SafeArmsReview yo i tht a 20 gauge shotgun slug or waht do i have to by a specific slug makes for my 20 gauge

Wow. I am simply glowing with enthusiasm. I only have a few questions and comments: Question: What kind of velocity are you looking at with a slug from an MP shell? Comment: Lead is shiny when it first comes out isn't it! That's because lead oxidizes fast and forms a coating around it that turns dark gray. Comment: I found MP 7 1/2 shot shells at my local walmart for $20 for 100 rounds! That's 20 cents a round! Unless my math is wrong, you can get 5 DIY slugs for every 1 factory!

it'd be cool if they had some round molds, then you could load buck shots.

Shiny lead goodness lol, class

What are the tools you used called, and do you have to top it off with glue

thanx for uploadin this vid

we used to use a socket to get the rifling effect on the diy slugs be careful and use the right size tho it will work flawlessly we also used bulk sinkers and weights from the tackle shop.soft lead but wicked impact. also a gas grill works for melting the lead lots of options safety is respected.

Nice vid 5*

Very Nice Job

Getting the lead out ! LOL 5*

Steve - thanks for the clairification. All the other comments have me excited about trying this for slugs and fishing gear. Keep up the great work. Chuck

My hats off to you for your ingenuity and creating your own slug molds, stocks, etc. Matter of fact your vid inspired me to do this series. If you get rid of all the bells and whistles in my vid, you end up with yours. Congrats for posting and being a gun enthusiast of the highest caliber. :D

why. How could this possibly be illegal?

you rock ;-) :-) ;-}}!

I've been working with lead for a while making my own bass fishing jigs and weights. You can pick up a "hot-pot" from do-it molds for about $40. It is basically an electric ladle that lets you melt and pour without a flame. (Just an FYI for anyone looking to trying this out and needs to buy some equipment)

very cool.

this information should be made illegal, you're going to jail buddy.

Great stuff SAR. Great stuff. You guys have all the tools and equipment: we have to work with what we can... You can buy what you need for less than $100 what we have to CREATE from scratch. Great stuff...

Hey SAR, I wanted to be one those people to tell you that I appreciate all the vids and everything else your doing, and you don't need negativity to bring you down, you do you and them be asshole bc they prob don't have vids anyway. Keep it up man RESPECT !!!

LOL.... "Lead exposure is dangerous" Yeah-- especially if your on the receiving end of a fast moving batch of it....

about casting bullets and stuff can you make like jacketed bullets out of led casted bullets, like galvanizing it or so? and is it possible to cast bullets out of other materials like steel or copper oder so?

I dont think so. The silicone breaks away much easier than the end crimp of the original shell. Check out part three where I do a test of the rounds at the range. :)
